Foster

Fostering is one of the most meaningful ways to support Community Cat Crew. Foster homes provide temporary care for cats as they prepare for adoption, offering comfort, stability, and love outside of a shelter environment.

What We Provide:

  • Food, litter, and other necessary supplies
  • Medical care, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and vet visits
  • Guidance and support from foster coordinators

What We Ask from Fosters:

  • Comfort in welcoming potential adopters into your home or bringing cats to the adoption center for meet-and-greets
  • Taking photos and sharing information about your foster cats for adoption listings
  • Providing a safe, loving environment for cats to grow, heal, or socialize
  • Reporting on behavior, health, and progress to help with adoption readiness

Time Commitment:

  • Fostering is flexible and can range from a few weeks to several months, depending on the cat’s needs
  • Some cats need full-time care, while others may only need temporary support

Support You’ll Receive:

  • Ongoing advice, encouragement, and guidance from foster coordinators
  • Assistance with medical or behavioral concerns
  • Access to a community of fellow fosters for sharing experiences, tips, and encouragement

On behalf of all the cats who have found or are still looking for forever homes, thank you for applying to foster.

Medical Experience (No professional experience is required – just check anything you are comfortable doing.)
Foster caregivers don’t need formal medical training. Comfort with administering medication, observing health changes, and following guidance from foster coordinators is what matters most. Our foster coordinators and foster community are available to help when needed and are happy to teach new skills.
Do you have a separate space (away from personal pets) to keep fosters?
